The 2,500-seat Festspielhaus is one of the largest venues for classical music in Europe. Its architecture is unique: the auditorium and stage were built on the tracks of the former grand ducal railway station. Its classicist building forms the entrance to the Festspielhaus. The stage building with its light-flooded lobby was rebuilt in the mid-1990s. Classic fans can now enjoy a classic Vorwerk® carpet there. In the light-flooded foyers and on the imposing staircases, 2,000 m² of the woven velour KAIRO in a beige tone were laid. Its yarn was individually dyed and matched to the tone of the natural stone walls.
